MG ZR 105 2004
Owner: Liv Gron
I came across a Rover Streetwise one day on Autotrader whilst looking for my first car, it immediately caught my interest. As I delved more into that rabbit hole it brought me to the MG ZR. I knew I wanted something rare, different and something I hadn’t seen before; it was perfect. I was set on getting a Trophy Blue or X Power Grey ZR, I asked my dad for help finding one. I told him any colour but yellow. A few weeks later my dad sent me the link to a Trophy Yellow MK2 ZR with 60k on the clock. I was hesitant as it was yellow, but I travelled by train with My partner went to East London to have a look at it, unsure if I would buy it but going anyway to make my dad happy. The moment I saw it I knew I’d be taking it home with me. The yellow grew on me a lot. It had head gasket failure but that didn’t put me off. We brought it back home and I bought a brand new head for it that was shipped from Birmingham. We did the head-gasket outside our house a few months later. I had a provisional license at the time, so I learned to drive and passed my driving test in my ZR a few months later. I’ve fallen in love with it more and more every day, the yellow now reflects my personality and that of the car.
