AEZ8484 was originally ordered as a showroom display car for Belfast dealer Charles Hurst alongside it’s sister car AEZ8485 which is owned by my son.

This is the first ZR to be painted in Monogram Shot Silk and was built on 15th July 2004. It was registered on 30th November 2004, the same day as my son’s car, which was painted in Monogram Bittersweet.

It is highly specified and equipped for a ZR but oddly, was built as a base model (not + spec) 1.4 105 bhp with a large range of factory options fitted:

• Chromescent exterior paint.
• Gunsmoke Alcantara/leather interior with rear head restraints and driver’s seat height adjustment.
• Front passenger airbag
• Perforated leather steering wheel.
• Air conditioning.
• Cigar lighter with relocatable ashtray.
• Spare wheel and jack.
• Front fog lamps.
• Full sports body kit including side sills.
• 17” ‘Straights’ alloy wheels.

This increased the standard car price of £10395 to over £15500 in 2004 (the paint alone cost £2100).

It has recently received rear arch and tailgate rust repairs. The paint is readily available but is VERY expensive.

The car is primarily used for car shows and is typically seen together with my son’s car. It’s lovely to have the pair of cars back together.
