MGCC: Midget Register, 2017 Midget Register Road Run, Sunday 3rd September

Returning to its traditional start point for one extra time only, the Toddington Steam Railway centre in Gloucestershire will once more reverberate to the sounds of MG’s as they set off from the beautiful National Trust property at Upton House near Banbury, for this year’s late summer event.

Built in the 17th century, the house commands a magnificent view point set high on the Edge Hill ridge. Walter Samuel, the 2nd Viscount Bearstead purchased Upton in 1927 to provide a setting for his art collection, which including works by Constable, Hogarth, Stubbs, and Canaletto, is probably the best private collection outside London. The Shell Oil millionaire also collected tapestries, European porcelain, English silver and much more, all of which is on display along with two galleries dedicated to early Shell advertising & memorabilia.

As always informality is key, but with lovely grounds, superb views, an excellent restaurant and shop, plus special parking along the main drive, an enjoyable day can be expected. Please contact the Midget Register for more information.
