Itinerary
This is a ‘belter’ and a great first visit to Italy. We drive in easy stages through France and over the Alps to the beautiful town of Asti. Then on to the romantic city of Verona, where we stay for three nights. This city is the setting for Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, and you can see the balcony where much of the action is reputedly set. The next day we take a short excursion to the Ferrari Museum, followed by a light lunch at a farm which will then divulge the secrets of producing one of Italy’s best known cheeses, Parmesan, and the essential Balsamic vinegar. We will also be able to see the Panini Car Museum’s collection which includes Stirling Moss’s famous Maserati Eldorado.
The following day we will drive to San Valentino Alla Muta for our adventure through the Stelvio Pass’s 48 hairpin bends and finishing in Lenno on the picturesque shores of Lake Como. We have two days to explore this beautiful area, visiting towns such as Bellagio and the city of Como.
We reluctantly return home via Mulhouse and Chamouille.
