 Prince Bishop’s & St. Cuthbert’s Runs: 28th July

Organisers: Noel Lindford & Steve Lidgate

Once again, we have organized a unique road run experience, “two tours through history, one glorious finish!”  This is the event that accommodates all our Tyne-Tees members, wherever you reside, be it north or south of our region.

Both the events are described below, and they finish on Palace Green, just in front of Durham Cathedral (this is a World Heritage Site) where the cars will be judged whilst you all enjoy a cream tea served adjacent to Palace Green, (wet-weather plan as well!) before the trophies are awarded.

Choose your event, then click on the link to the on-line entry form to book your place, it’s that easy!  Limited to 60 cars in total, so don’t delay; a timely entry is highly recommended.

Welcome to the Prince Bishops’ Run 2024     Noel Lindford: Organiser

The run starts once again from the Show-field Car-Park in Stokesley TS9 5DP, where we will have a reserved car-park all to ourselves, courtesy of Hambleton District Council.

Breakfast rolls and scones are available (they can be pre-booked) and teas / coffees are provided at il Mulino, a very nice restaurant just a two-minute walk away in College Square.  Details are in the on-line booking form. The event is covered by a motorsport UK Permit and the MG Car Club.

The route is a 98-mile tour taking in breathtaking scenery over wonderful and relatively quiet driving roads traversing North Yorkshire, through picture-book villages, heading west via Northallerton to Richmond, the recommended lunch halt. Here we have free reserved car-parking in the Market Place thanks to our friends at Richmond Town Council, and there are plenty of cafes available, or you may choose to bring a picnic lunch, before heading off into the County Palatine of Durham.  We follow parts of the routes taken by medieval Prince Bishops travelling north to Durham City.
