The Midget Register September Road Run 2013
THE MG CAR CLUB welcomed the start of the new month with the Annual September Road Run organised by the Midget Register.
Starting at Toddington steam railway centre, over 70 MGs navigated their way through the beautiful Gloucestershire countryside to Chavenage House, near Tetbury.
The route was designed by Dennis Wharf who is known for picking narrow, twisting country roads and this year was no exception! The pay-off however, were some fantastic views of the rural landscape.
Special arrangements had been made to allow the cars to park on the lawns of Chavenage House, creating quite a sight. The owners, who used to own a MGB Roadster, welcomed participants into their home with guided tours of the house and church.
This was Dennis’ twelfth and final year of running the event. To thank him and his wife Linda for all their hard work over the years, Dennis was presented with a silver plate engraved with a picture of a Jacobs Midget and a bottle of Champagne.
