A T Type for a wedding in central London
The T Register has been asked if a member can provide a T Type to transport a bride to the church on her wedding day on Friday 9th September.
The bride’s father used to own a 1936 TA in Singapore to which she grew up with and why the classic MG would be the perfect and sentimental vehicle that delivers her to the church on the big day.
The car would be needed in central London. Pick up would be in Mayfair at 69 Brook Street and drop off at the St Augustine of Canterbury Church, 44 Onslow Square in South Kensington – in total about 25 minute drive.
Timing would be roughly be around 11:30am to arrive at the church for 12 noon.

Triumph and MG Weekend cancelled for 2022
The Triumph and MG Weekend which was held with much success in 2021 has been cancelled for 2022. The notice for the cancellation appeared on 26 July and reads as follows –
It is with deep regret that we must announce that the 2022 Triumph and MG Weekend, due to be held over the weekend of 19-21 August, has been cancelled.
The organising clubs, MG Car Club, TR Register and TSSC made the difficult decision to cancel the event due to experiencing a lack of ticket sales against a backdrop of sharply rising costs for holding the event. Ticket sales were 70% down on where they were this time last year.
A spokesperson for the organising committee said, ‘We are devastated to share this news. Last year, the MG Car Club, TR Register and TSSC all enjoyed award-winning success when the classic car community recognised the collaboration between the clubs as a true innovation within the community and all three clubs received accolades from the industry. However, the cost of living, in particular fuel prices, and the backlog of holidays and other events after the pandemic have all influenced attendance levels this year. The organisers from each of the three clubs have therefore had to ensure that they are carrying out their duty to safeguard the financial stability of their respective car club.’
All ticket holders will be refunded in full, including camping and additional extras such as Autojumble pitches and electric hook-up.
Please do not contact the MG Car Club at this early stage regarding refunds as they will be automatically processed for MG Car Club members and will be appearing in bank accounts over the next 5 – 7 working days. There is nothing you need to do to obtain your full refund at this stage. We expect all refunds to have been processed and received by ticket holders by 8th August 2022.
You can read the announcement on the main club’s website.
Link to Vintage Stony 2022 photos
Our apologies but the gremlins crept in to the January 2022 newsletter sent out to members. Clicking the photos of the Vintage Stony New Year’s Day event led to the NEC Classic Car Show website instead of showing a larger version of them 😱🙁.
This is where to view all the larger versions of the photos of the Vintage Stony event.
