This year’s Autumn Tour to Kent has been booked for 15-18 September 2023. The venue will be the Ashford International Hotel and within striking distance are the delights of the Kent coast, Canterbury, Royal Tunbridge Wells and the Cinque Ports.

As usual, there will be road runs organised for both the Saturday and Sunday. The Tour will have a private dining room for the whole event with a choice of menu and there will be a gala dinner on the Saturday evening.

The weekend will see the participants touring through often unseen parts of Kent up and down the North Downs, also the very popular Weald area. Kent is known as the Garden of England and is famous for white clapperboard and Oast Houses, originally used for drying hops.

The two routes have been revised in light of road closures and now are as follows:
One of the routes passes Headcorn Aerodrome, famous as a Battle Of Britain airfield and we have been informed that, weather permitting, a Spitfire will be flying that day. This route also passes Sissinghurst and Bodiam Castles as well as a Morgan three wheeler museum, the Kent and East Sussex Railway, and passes through the Cinque port of Rye.
The other route is further to the west allowing visits to Leeds Castle, Scotney Castle and possibly Batemans as well as taking in the High Weld AONB.

Details for the 2023 Autumn Tour are as follows:

1. The venue is the Ashford International Hotel, Simone Weil Avenue, Ashford. TN24 8UX
2. Booking is direct with the hotel; please telephone the hotel on 0330 107 1599, and quote CLAS150923. The hotel does not require deposits and you can cancel up to 24 hours before the event.
3. The cost will be £552.00 for Double Occupancy room and £432.00 Single Occupancy room.
There will also be a Tour sign on fee of £70 per crew, separately payable to the T Register to cover the private dining room hire at the hotel and route organisation expenses etc.
4. Please let our Secretary Sally Silcock know you have booked as well. Sally is i/c the admin for the Tour.
