Sam Tordoff Confirms His Place With MG For 2014 Season
THE MG KX MOMENTUM racing team has come back to the 2014 BTCC with vengeance!
With a winning team consisting of BTCC champion Jason Plato and rising BTCC star Sam Tordoff, who will both race in the award winning MG6 GT.
The cars will be prepared by Triple Eight Race Engineering, one of the most successful constructors in touring car racing. And completing the dream team are principal sponsors Tesco Fuels with their Momentum 99 brand, Castrol and KX energy drink completing an all-British line-up.
MG KX Momentum Racing made its debut at Brands Hatch at the 2012 Dunlop MSA BTCC championship.
MG came third in the 2013 British Touring Car Championship at Brands Hatch GP. MG driver, Jason Plato received a total of 380 points, a mere 10 points less than Gordon Sheddon (Honda) who came second and only 17 points less than Andrew Jordon (Pirtek) who came first.
MG had more pole positions than anyone else and 50% of the races had front row lock out.
In his first BTCC season Jason’s team mate, Sam Tordoff won his first race at Oulton Park and finished sixth overall with 286 points. Tordoff broke the news on Twitter last night, saying: “Very pleased to announce I shall be returning to the Dunlop BTCC with the MG KX Momentum Racing Team! Thank you to all who helped make it happen!”
MG KX Momentum racing team will be working hard over the winter months to come back bigger and better and gain back the championship title in 2014!
