SAIC Sales Rise Across 2013
DURING 2013 SAIC Motor sales increased by 13.7%, with the Chinese firm selling over 5.1 units.
This makes SAIC the first Chinese car manufacturer to exceed five million units in a year.
Interestingly 230,000 units can be attributed to the sales of MG and Roewe. At its peak in the 1970s, MG was selling just over 70,000 units a year.
As the marque celebrates its 90th anniversary, sales of MG look set to increase with the opening of a SAIC manufacturing facility in Thailand focussing on the production of MGs.
This new facility will allow SAIC and MG to expand into the vast South East Asian market.
