Safety Fast March 1974
AS WE mark the 90th anniversary of MG we once again look back to 1974 when MG and the MG Car Club celebrated 50 years of MG motoring.
As expected ‘Old Number One’ received a lot of attention in 1974 and was rightly the cover star of the March issue. Inside the magazine the feature article is of a M-type Midget lovingly called called ‘Quasimodo’ by its owner Cliff Bradshaw.
Having carried out some repair work Bradshaw entered Quasimodo into the 1973 Welsh Rally Autumn Trial and wrote: “There is something about MGs which seems to be synonymous with hangovers, good intentions, scruffy mudguards and leaky radiators”.
