Overseas Director
Announcement.
At the 2015 Annual General Meeting of the Car Club, the Overseas Director, Paul Plummer tendered his resignation from that position. Paul has carried out that role for the past six years and he felt that it was time to step down and let somebody else take the reins. Paul has remained as Director and member of the board of the MGCC UK and has assumed individual project responsibilities as they have arisen.
Paul very much enjoyed the events run by our affiliated clubs and met many wonderful like-minded enthusiasts, and to all those friends and colleagues around the world he wishes them, and Safety Fast!
At the same AGM, Peter Cook was elected as a Director of the club and takes on the Overseas role. Peter has been a member of the club for eight years, has owned a MGBGTV8 for 35 years, and latterly was the Chairman of the Devon and Cornwall Centre. He wrote a two-part article on William Morris, Lord Nuffield which was published in Safety Fast! in the May and June issues, 2013.
Brought up in Oxford Peter’s father worked at what is now the Mini plant. His own lack of enthusiasm for factory work took him off to university where he studied economics. This in turn led to over three decades of teaching in various university Business Schools until recent retirement.
Peter is very committed to building on the already considerable MGCC presence outside of the UK, and where possible to enhance the Club’s services to overseas members.
