Model Guide

Launched in 2013 the MG3 is a roomy hatchback powered by the all-new EU5 compliant 1.5 litre chain-cam engine which develops a healthy 104bhp with a five speed manual gearbox. With Bluetooth, USB connectivity and DAB radio even in the entry level model it’s competitively priced and has an exceptionally low insurance grouping 4E, placing it alongside far less powerful rivals.

When the MG3 launched in 2013 it had a lot to live up to, following on from the hugely popular ZR, it’s fair to say expectations for the 3 were high. The 3 quickly became a strong seller for MG: loads of personalisation options, a great selection of colours coupled with a low price meant that plenty of customers headed to their local dealer to opt for the ‘mini MG’. So the MG3 is back, fresh-faced for 2018 and beyond. But what’s it like?
