MG Magnette

Model Guide

Launched in 1953, the ZA Magnette styled by Gerald Palmer was upgraded as the ZB in 1956 which was in production until 1958. The Farina Magnette Mks III and IV were produced from 1959 to 1968. The MG Magnette was a milestone in Abingdon, it was the first mono-construction MG, it also was one of the fastest saloons in his class.

So, you’re looking to buy an MG Magnette?

It is now more than 48 years since the last MG Magnette rolled out of Abingdon where it was built alongside the MGA and Riley Pathfinder, amongst others. Designed almost entirely by the late Gerald Palmer, it was the first MG constructed with a monocoque bodyshell – every MG built up until then had had a separate chassis.

Here is a detailed model review and buying guide for the MG Magnette.
