Steve Carr Retires!
“I hope you will all join me in wishing Steve Carr all the very best. After this meeting at Snetterton he is taking a well-deserved retirement from his role as the MGCC Competitions Secretary.
Steve has worked with and alongside the MGCC race committee for just over seven years. During his time he has produced some great and memorable race meetings, not least the MGB50 race two years ago at
Silverstone as part of MGLive! 2012.
The staff at Kimber House always enjoy Steve’s company in the office, especially when he is joined by his gorgeous King Charles Spaniel, ‘Henry’. We sincerely hope they both enjoy the years of retirement together.”
Julian White, MG Car Club General Manager
Steve had this message to pass on:
“GOODBYE!
This is my last race as Competition Secretary of the MG Car Club and I will be shortly handing over completely to John Hutchison and retiring. I took over the position in 2007, at the age of 62, and in the ensuing eight years have run 45 Race Meetings and made a lot of friends, whom I will miss. I do however hope to come to some of the meetings next year and do something new – actually watch the racing from round the circuits!
From henceforth could you please address all your motorsport correspondence, phone calls and emails to John at the Club’s Head Office in Kimber House, Abingdon. Details on the Club’s web site if you don’t know them.
Finally thank you! to all the drivers, teams, marshals and officials for all your support and friendship throughout my term in office.
Steve Carr
