Ecurie GTS & Equipe GTS to merge

Ecurie GTS, run by the MG Car Club (MGCC) and Equipe GTS, owned by Aston Club Racing (ACR) are to become one series for the 2015 season.

Run by a team of drivers and administered by the existing clubs, the new series will be independent and feature the best races from the MGCC and ACR calendars as well as at least one European
round.

Featuring pre 1966 FiA type cars (FiA papers not demanded) the new series will target production sports and GT cars with engines spread across five classes up to 2700cc.

The aim is to provide a close & competitive yet gentlemanly, safe and friendly race series with a high standard of driving and car preparation for drivers with cars complying with Appendix K
regulations.

Previously, both series have targeted similar cars. The overall philosophy was the same although the rules were slightly different in each series. In some cases there were races at the same circuit a
week apart.

The new series can now ensure an exciting and balanced calendar using the best UK circuits and introduce some great European circuits that have been enjoyed by drivers in the past.

2015 will be a transition year where new regulations will ensure anyone who has raced in either series in 2014 will be welcome.
