Dorothy “Dot” Watson – Obituary

MGCC Motorsport 1024

It is with great sadness we announce that Dorothy Watson, passed away peacefully on Monday October 12th at 1.20pm in Lincoln County hospital aged 74 years, while surrounded by her dearest and greatly loved family.

Dorothy was the wife of ex-MG Car Club Chief Marshal, John Watson. She was often referred to as ‘Dot’ in her days of supporting John whilst he was the Club’s Chief Marshal for many years.  She was instrumental in setting up and beginning the coffee/refreshments for the marshals at sign on at all MG events – and travelled around all the circuits for many a year, supporting John and the family.  Dorothy would often help to stuff tickets and letters in envelopes, do the teas, help with the national event and often attended meals with the racing team and other associated events.

She was very much a large part of the MG Car Club’s race community, and will be very sadly missed by all who knew her.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at Grimsby Crematorium on Monday 26th October at 11.40am.

Dorothy’s family have set up an online memorial, should you wish to review her life story and leave any messages for the family etc.  Please visit: Dorothy May Watson | Grimsby | The Co-operative Funeralcare.
