MG Midget & Sprite Challenge
Sponsored by Lackford Engineering
AFTER 35 successful years, the MGCC Midget Challenge has joined forces with the Sprites from the Austin Healey Club to create the Midget & Sprite Challenge – the only exclusively ‘Spridget’ race series in the UK. With the backing of the well known Classic Car restoration company, Lackford Engineering, we have created THE home for racing Midgets and Sprites.
Our class structure reflects the different specifications that Spridgets have raced over the years, and we welcome all historic body styles.
Class A – Fully modified, based on classic Modsport rules
Class B – Modified engines and slick tyres, making them very cost effective race cars
Class C – Road cars with limited improvements running on road tyres
Class D – Limited modifications as allowed by Healey Club (class D) rules
Class E – Race modified engines and suspension but treaded tyres
We aim to encourage all drivers, from Novice to Expert, who relish close racing and the challenge of a traditional rear wheel drive sports car. Above all, we aim to provide serious racing on track but a friendly and fun approach off track.
We would like to invite all enthusiasts to come and look at our cars and say ‘hello’ to the drivers. Maybe you will decide to join us!
