Mille Miglia Route

Navigation

Itinerary

This tour follows the exact route of the 2014 race. Having made our way via Reims and Basel to Brescia, the route’s starting point, we will be given a brief history of the Mille Miglia race and a visit to the race museum. We will then spend a night in  Padova followed by Portonova, near Ancona, on the east coast of Italy. From there we drive to the outskirts of Rome where we will stay over for two days giving everyone a chance to see some of the hundreds of places of interest in the city. Public transport links from our hotel into the city are plentiful, avoiding the need to drive in Rome which can be a little trying!

We then make our way north to Siena in the heart of Tuscany for two days, a very popular and beautiful area. Whilst here Bridget will lead a day run to San Gimignano. Then it is back to Brescia for a night before returning home

A fantastic way to see a wide variation of everything Italy has to offer, the different cultures, historic sites, food and wines; and everywhere we go the locals will tell you they are the only ones that can prepare the many different Italian sauces properly.
