History of Car and any work or modifications carried out: MG midget chassis no GAN1 6704 First registered 25 January 1962. Purchased by myself December 2016 It is soon apparent from the huge history file that accompanies this little car that all of its 4 previous owners have treated it to a ‘no expense spared’ lifestyle. Sold new by the ‘Paradise garage’ in Coventry, its first owner insisted on only Castrol GTX oil being used during servicing. That same garage took the car back six years later when it was then sold for £260. During the new owners care it was again fastidiously maintained by Landsdowne garage, Leicester until 1984 when, with 67000 miles on the clock it was dry stored until 1999. It was then sold at auction for £3400 to a gentleman in Hampshire and that would mark the start of an eight year, almost total nut and bolt restoration, on completion, he enjoyed the car for a further eight years, adding another ten thousand miles. As a winter project, when l purchased the car, it was once again partially stripped, serviced and the brakes completely renewed and l hope, looking like new again. The car still retains its original 948cc engine and l recon it probably drives as well as it did when it left the showroom.
