History of Car and any work or modifications carried out: My car has been modified for fast road use, both suspension and engine. The running gear is now “Frontline developments” both front and rear with a Panhard rod, the bumpers and any extraneous weight have been removed. The engine has a 270 deg fast road camshaft, modified cylinder head, LCB manifold and free flow exhaust, Weber 40DCOE carburation. It produced an optimistic 103bhp on a chassis dyno, I suspect more like 90+bhp. It has a “works” style hardtop restored and painted the same colour as the body, the whole car restoration and re-build was prompted by a £5.00 bet, “bet you can’t get that old Midget tidied up for the LeMans run this year”, bet accepted lost £5.00 spent ££££s and six months locked in the garage.
