MGs on parade at the British Athletics Anniversary Games
Classic MGs owned by MG Car Club members took part in the MG Motor Parade at the British Athletics Anniversary Games on Friday 23rd July.
Top athletes were paraded around the stadium at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, home of the London 2012 Olympics, in front of thousands of spectators.
British Olympic Bronze medalist, Robbie Grabarz (who visited Kimber House back in 2013), led the parade in Darren Allsworth’s MG TF, followed by Renaud Lavillenie, the World Record holder in the Men’s Pole Vault, who was driven around the track in Chris Bray’s MGA, and Tiffany Porter, the American 100m hurdler who now competes for Team GB, enjoyed the parade from Dave Tynan’s TF. And last but not least, Usain Bolt, who later took victory in the 100m, was treated to a ride in Richard Martin’s MGB. The four classic MGs were top and tailed by the MG3 and new MG6.
