A FILM
by well-known producer John Lakey, MGB50 – A Year to Remember, documents the key events of the 2012 MGB50 celebrations.

Featured on the DVD are the FIA MGB race and birthday party at MGLive! the seminar ‘MGB: The Story’ at the Amey Theatre in Abingdon and of course the main MGB50 event at Blenheim Palace, the largest ever gathering of MGB’s.

There are also contributions from well-known MGB authorities including Paddy Hopkirk, Alec Poole, Peter Browning, and Don Hayter. There is extensive race coverage with in car footage and interviews with owners and enthusiasts.

This DVD is a must for any MGB owner or anyone interested in the MG Marque.

Producer John Lakey said: “As an MGB enthusiast/owner and professional TV producer I’ve wanted to make a documentary about the MGB for years, and after talking with Chris Seaward and MGB Chairman John Watson in late 2011, I realised that 2012 was the time to do it.

“I found to my surprise that no filming was planned for MGLive! 2012 and felt the FIA 50 race needed to be recorded for posterity and so managed to borrow some equipment and three experienced colleagues to work with me over the weekend.

“We got some great footage, the FIA MGB-only field going into the first corner looked amazing whilst the mincam material was spectacular – it’s worth buying the DVD just for the battle between Jeremy Cottingham and Malcolm Gammons!

“The sheer quantity of MGBs present at Blenheim Palace was breathtaking and I hope the montage sequences reflect that, as I’m sure it will never happen again. Filming all those cars arriving was something I’ll never forget. Later in the day I was lucky enough to talk on camera with former Abingdon factory workers who were very happy to share their memories of how an MGB was built.”

‘MGB50: A Year to Remember’ is in ‘All Regions PAL’ SD format on a dual-layer DVD9 and so will play on any PAL enabled DVD player – by far the most common format in the world. It will play on many DVD players in the USA as long as they are enabled for PAL; however, it will not play on American NTSC only units. It will also play on any DVD enabled computer.
