MG GT enters Costa Rican Touring Car series!
MG Costa Rica have made a formal announcement of participation in the new championship road racing: Costa Rica Touring Car Championship CTCC in 2016.
This is the first foray into the sport for MG in Costa Rica and a new category that is expected to be part of the new development of motor sport in the country, with the backing of the major car brands in Costa Rican industry. The car will represent the team is the new MG GT which is the flagship car in MG Costa Rica.
Also unveiled is the official team driver, the young Bernal Valverde , a bright karting driver of a new generation of Costa Rican talent with experience in previous categories of motorsport.
Duncan Zenteno, MG Commercial Consultant, tells us about this major foray into the CTCC:
“To MG Motors representative in Costa Rica it is important to contribute to the development of the sport and especially to support and encourage the new generation of drivers which is highlighted by Bernal Valverde.”
Bernal Valverde, says about his signing with MG:
“I am very happy and looking forward to the CTCC season. I’m very proud to be part of this revival of racing in Costa Rica and also next to a great British brand like MG a major contender in British motorsport. It will be a great privelidge to race in the elite category of motorsport in Costa Rica. I am sure we will have very good seasons together, with very good results. “
