MG SV to celebrate 15 years at Shelsley Walsh
The MG SV was first launched by MG Sport and Racing at the NEC Motor Show in November 2002, making this year the 15th anniversary. To mark this an event is being arranged by the MGSV Club (www.mgsv-club.com) at the Shelsley Walsh hill climb venue in Worcestershire on Sunday 24th September 2017.
There were around 60 RHD cars produced in both the SV and the more powerful SV-R variants and at the moment 11 cars are signed up for the day. As there are believed to be 25 or so cars currently on the road in the UK there are still plenty more around that would be very welcome to participate!
Lunch is being arranged by Shelsley Walsh (must be pre-booked) and those that wish to participate can also take a couple of runs up the hill.
The MG SV was designed by Peter Stevens who also designed the Jaguar XJR-15, Lotus Elan M100 and many MG/Rover cars but is probably best-known for his work on the McLaren F1. Peter will be at the event along with Harris Mann who also worked on the car’s development so it is a great opportunity to talk to the people who know most about the cars.
