MG Regency Run
JOINTLY organised by the MG Car Club and the MG Owners Club, this Sunday more than 300 MG’s gathered at Epsom Downs Racecourse for the start of the 29th annual Regency Run.
This was the third time the Regency Run has set off from Epsom, with the grandstand and race course providing a dramatic backdrop to the cars. Not wanting to be outdone the finish line is just as spectacular, with the run ending on Brighton’s picturesque Madeira Drive seafront.
Cars began arriving at Epsom early on Sunday morning, with the Racecourse cafe open to provide MG enthusiasts with a hot cup of tea and a warm bacon butty. Entrants to the Regency Run had the choice of two routes, down to Brighton, where they were greeted by John Day, MG Car Club President.
Chris Keevil was the first driver to depart, in his 1925 Super Sport, leading out the pack at 10am. The weather held off, and while participants weren’t treated to the same blue skies and sunshine they enjoyed last year, at least it didn’t rain!
