Auction Watch: Two low mileage MGs to go under the hammer
Two incredibly low mileage MGs make up an extensive lot as part of the Classic Car Auctions September Sale.
A 1981 MGB LE Roadster is one of the special cars up for auction, and with just 1,963 miles on the clock is set to be sold in the region of £9,000 – £11,000. The car has been owned by the vendor for the past 17 years, having spent ten of those in dry storage. It was purchased in 2000 from All Electric Garages with just 991 miles and was one of only 208 LE Roadsters made with wire wheels, making it an even rarer beast.
The second low mileage MG to feature is a 2005 MG ZR 105 with an odometer reading of just 759 miles. The car is described as being ‘showroom fresh’ with its Trophy Blue exterior and check unmarked interior. There’s just one owner in the book, and it comes included with all original booklets, SORN certificates and some MOTs when it was running. The ZR’s estimate is between £5,000 – £7,000 and promises to be a true collector’s item for the new owner.
A fully restored MG YT Tourer that was rebuilt back in 2013 also makes the lot, after being brought in from the USA. It has remained as left-hand-drive and has kept its original engine but has had its carbs and ignition rebuilt. Being just one of 887 produced, it’s a rare model of MG that would look good in any collection.
Two other MGs are also part of the auction. First a 1954 MG TF with Deep Metallic Silver paintwork and red interior, and secondly a red 1957 MGA Coupe. The September 2017 sale will take place on Saturday 23rd September 2017 at The Warwickshire Exhibition Centre.
If you are interested in bidding at the sale, viewing of lots will be possible on Friday 22nd September from 12noon until 6:00pm and on the day of the sale from 9:00 to 11:00. For more information, you can visit the Classic Car Auctions’ website.
