The World’s Largest Coffee Morning is drawing closer as we prepare to begin baking! Once again the MG Car Club will be opening the doors to Kimber House and hosting a coffee morning to raise as much money as possible!

The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is an annual fundraising event whereby people invite their friends, relatives or workmates to come round for coffee to help raise money for Macmillan. The hosts might organise coffee and cakes for their guests and ask for donations in return.

Last year the event raised a staggering £15million nationally which allowed Macmillan Cancer Support to continue to fund nurses, benefits advisors, specialist dieticians and a support line as well as many other services. Macmillan understand that cancer affects everyone, and are there to support the families as well as those who are diagnosed with the illness.

Call in  from 11am on Friday 27th September for cake and coffee as well as a tour of the building and the chance to see some of the incredible MG memorabilia the club house is home to.

This year we are being joined by Abingdon Health Walks who will be offering guests to join them on a short MG themed walk around the old factory site. Abingdon Health Walks are part of the nationwide group helping all kinds of people to lead a more active lifestyle.

MacMillan Cancer Support acknowledges that when you are living with, or recovering from cancer, walking can make a positive difference to your life, which is why they have partnered with Walking for health.

The benefits from walking include reducing tiredness and reducing stress and anxiety. But best of all you make new friends, share laughter and feel more positive about life!

Motor sport has always been a key part of the MG Car Club and the Coffee Morning is no expectation. Basil Wales will be bringing his Scaletrix set with some iconic MGB race cars for guests to re-enact some famous driving battles.
