ON Bank Holiday Monday 26th May 2014 a special Touring Assembly of MG and other marques will set off on a circular route covering the shortest distance between the South West peninsula’s three moors.

The Triple Moor Run also known as ‘Moor,Moor, for Pete’s sake Moor’, has been designed not only to enjoy classic motoring in the Cornwall & Devon countryside, but to serve as a memoriam to the late Pete Moores.

Pete, whose business Calweton Building Construction Ltd., was based in Callington became a founder member of the Devon & Cornwall Centre of the MG Car Club, involving himself with all aspects of motorsport and served on the committee until his untimely death.

This forthcoming event will be open to all classics, starting at Sterts Amphitheatre on the edge of Bodmin Moor, then heading roughly NE to Exmoor where other classics will converge. These will be enthusiasts from Lincolnshire & Norfolk and elsewhere, who are staying at Berrynarbor near Coombe Martin, and will commence the Run from there, continuing with the main group when leaving on the return leg to Upton Cross via Okehampton on Dartmoor.

Cars will leave at one minute intervals from Sterts car park, with 1st away at 09.00, whilst the North Devon contingent will commence at 11.30.

Lunch stops will be left to the individuals, but it is strongly recommended to take a packed lunch to avoid stopping too long over lunch, as mingling with tourists at pubs on a Bank Holiday, is not advisable. Cream Teas will be available back at Sterts from 4pm.

Because this Run is slightly longer than average and fuel expensive, the cost of entry is less than half the norm at just £10 per car. A cream tea will be just £2.50pp and full entry list £1.00 if requested. The total driving time is expected to be 5 ½ – 6 hours.
