John Targett Obituary

WE ARE saddened to hear of the passing of popular Car Club member John Targett, after a long and painful fight with cancer.

Victor Smith, Chairman of the V8 Register writes: “His enthusiasm for life saw him competing in several racing series in the US in his replica works MGB Roadster and frequent visits to the UK for the MG Show at Stoneleigh, Silverstone weekend and the Goodwood Revival. Many friends and acquaintances will miss his smile and cheerful conversation a very great deal.

“For my part much of my enjoyment of MGs over the last 40 years and more, and of course Goodwood, has been in his warm and cheerful company.”

A funeral will take place in the US within the next ten days. A memorial service is planned in the UK before Easter. Details will follow later.
