Monte Carlo Historique and Classique Rally at Banbury
MGCC members will join fellow classic car fans as the Rallye Monte-Carlo Historique and Classique entrants pass through Banbury tomorrow (Thursday, February 1).
The famous event will be returning to the Oxfordshire town for the first time since 1962, with an official passage control point for the rally vehicles located in the Market Place. The cars have already left Paisley in Glasgow bound for Monte Carlo – an epic journey of around 1500 miles. Amongst the rally participants will be a 1949 MG TC, prepared by Blue Diamond Riley Services in Bicester.
In addition to the rally cars passing through the town centre, this free-to-enter event will boast further attractions including street food, the Banbury Market and over 60 additional classic cars on display.
It will run from 10:00am – 3:30pm, with the rally vehicles leaving the town at one minute intervals from 1:30pm. Spectators are encouraged to travel to the town centre on foot, bike or public transport where possible.
