217 MGCs celebrate 50th anniversary
Last week the MGC Register celebrated the 50th anniversary of the MGC in fantastic style, with a 5-day event based at Chateau Impney in Worcestershire, and the Club was thrilled to find out that 217 MGCs in total made the event.
Cars coming from as far wide away as New Zealand and Norway poured into the grounds at Chateau Impney for the 50th-anniversary celebrations, organised by Register Chairman Ginny Cartmell. Across the five days, visitors were treated to various trips, including the Royal Air Force Cosford Museum, the Gloucestershire/Warwickshire Railway and the British Motor Museum, as well as hosting the MGC Show Day on Saturday, where the group were joined by two members of the Kimber House team.
Some notable cars took part in the event, including MGC GTS RMO 699F which will be part of the MGLive! Motorsport Display this weekend (17th & 18th June). Others included; the first prototype MGC, the first production MGC, and the last MGC off the line.
The Club has received glowing reports from attendees across the week, so a big thank you goes to Ginny and Barry Cartmell for their organisation and smooth running of the event. To see more pictures of the MGC Register’s 50th-anniversary celebrations, please visit their Facebook page.
