Sicilia in MG – La Targa Florio

IN 2015 the MG Car Club d’Italia will be holding their third meeting in Sicily with a series of motoring celebrations.

This year will see the anniversaries of two of MG’s most iconic cars, the MGA and MG TC. On top of that 2015 is also the 110th anniversary of the ‘Targo Florio’, one of the most famous motor racing events, which was originally titled the ‘Coppa Florio’ and first ran in 1905.

The Targo Florio was set up and created by Vincenzo Florio, a citizen of Palermo who came from a wealthy family. Florio was fascinated by the rise of the automobile and was known to participate in races at the beginning of the century.

The programme of events for the 2015 Silicia in MG has now been finalised, taking in a fantastic mix of culture and history. There is of course also plenty of time to take a break from motoring and relax on the beach!

The Silicia in MG starts on Friday 19th June 2015 and concludes on Saturday 27th June.
